How do you feel about the "Metro" feel that Windows Phone has and that'll be coming on Windows 8? Are you a supporter of it?

What do you/don't you like about it?

I know that they made W8 more for mobile use as well as home use, but I do not think that the metro look will be popular with home users. Of course, on a touchscreen phone i can see that look doing quite well but in a business/personal PC world, I cannot see it being as popular.
I just don;t like how it all just seems..clumped together really. If it was more organised, then maybe. (I'm just going by pictures I've seen of it)

I think the Metro UI on Windows Phone is nice right now. It shows you everything right on the homescreen so you can quickly get to the messaging and phone and Facebook and all that.

However I think that it won't be popular on PCs. I can see it working on something like a TV or game console or something but not on a computer - it almost feels like they're taking power away from the users. I like my desktop because I can put somewhere around 100 items on it, and they can be anything I want. I can put pictures or folders or shortcuts or even files with unknown extensions there and it all works. I feel like with Metro it'll either have to be extremely restricted with widgets (which by the looks of the widgets on Vista and Windows 7 are very scarce or ugly) or it'll be a free-for-all that will look ugly.

It kind of reminds me of the current Xbox Live interface.. which isn't a good thing.  However, I'm almost positive that Microsoft will have the option of having the "metro" desktop or the traditional one.  They're not just going to scrap everything.  Pretty much everyone that has used Windows, Macintosh, or Linux up until this point are used to what they've got going on now.  They know that a change like this is going to be met with some public disapproval.  And if they don't allow us to have the option then someone will design one.. shouldn't be too hard to code.

Or I'll just stick with Windows 7, which, in my opinion, remains a fantastic OS.
