Filesonic isn't allowing users to share files anymore just retrieve already uploaded files!

No articles yet, but I still saw it on Reddit first ;) haha.

Well it looks like the US has scared off all these file sharing sites! Let's just hope Dropbox doesn't go offline because I keep everything there. :)

Maybe they're going to clean up their illegal files before letting the public share again?

That would be great! Other file hosts should do the same thing before the government has to go after them for it!

Filesonic has done this, because the owner is scared of having a simlar fate to the owner of Magupload, which was taken down 4 days ago by the federal government. Many other sites are starting to enforce stricter rules, and even plan on stopping their services.

Hehe I guess I'm the only one trying to start a new service this week :) I started mirroring files from XDA that were getting shut down on other sites (just legal ROMs for people to download).

By the way guys good job on getting this thread to rank #2 for "filesonic dead" in Google! It's currently the number 2 top keyword bringing in traffic. Haha I guess this means that Filesonic's problem is a really serious problem, I never really knew how many people used the service.

I'd love to help out! If you want, I could mock up some designed 'for the site' and code them. Would be happy to do pretty much whatever, but would be looking for a small percentage of the business.

Had a little look, there seems to be lots of really nice script out there, if there's not one you like, I could code one.

ReDDs how many sites are you working on making right now? :) That sounds like a super ambitious proposal.

I'm not working on starting a big file sharing site just yet, so it's not even a discussion topic yet :)

Lol, the only 'major' project I'm working on is Friendtree. Everything else is just freelaunce webdesign work.
